Stones Throw artist, DJ extraordinaire DAM FUNK (@damfunk) performed at the recent 2010 Pitchfork Music Festival-held in Chicago every summer. DF was rocking a t-shirt from your favorite shop’s favorite shop, Saint Alfred. Big ups to Mr.Funk, Jamie Strong, and the entire Stones Throw fam. Crew love.

“Celebrating the second event of its newly built space, created in conjunction with St. Alfreds, Nike Sportswear kicked off a busy day with the welcoming of Mr. Cartoon to Chicago. Aside from making an appearance at the main event, the renowned Angeleno artist began the day with a special youth talk, speaking to students about his experiences as both an underground and commercial artist, while also touching base on the dedication and motivation it takes to succeed in the world of contemporary art. In addition, Mr. Cartoon teamed up with local graffiti artist & Art Institute of Chicago instructor, Kane One, on a piece that adorned the space’s wall, followed by a Q & A session later in the evening.” (photos + quote via hypebeast)

MAYER HAWTHORNE x HUF x STONES THROW

For the upcoming release of Mayer Hawthorne’s new single, a cover of the classic Tony Bennet “I left my heart in San Francisco”, Stones Throw, Freegums, HUF, and Mayer Hawthorne got together a produced a dope little promo video for the song (featuring Hanni, HUF, and the homie Billy-OG Saint Alfred team rider & worker). The release of the song will be embodied by a t-shirt designed by Freegums and a copy of the song-digitally stored on a heart shaped USB drive-as a pack.
KICKS/HI is one of the few select select retailers who have been chosen to carry this project. Shot out to HUF, Hanni, HUF DBC, Jamie at Stones Throw and everyone else who’s been down since day one.
