“Lost” inspired Nike SB January Quickstrikes: “Oceanic Airlines” Dunk High and “Dharma Initiative” Blazer. If you don’t get the references, then you’re lucky that both shoes stand on their own as simply good colorway/material plays, but if you like the shoes on pure aesthetics AND are “Lost” junkies (coincidentally the season 6 premier is going down RIGHT NOW!) then both of these should be a wrap for you! I want Futura to just take over designing every AF1 from now on. Straight up. These three (of more to come from this “Be True” collection) are absolutely beautiful shoes, AND he went with Highs over Mids, which was a great decision because I love AF1 Highs. The micro-perf uppers are dope. Futura’s distinctive handstyle and characters are all over each shoe in well placed, not overdone details. All-in-all a great comeback for the AF1 program. Ze Black Mamba just claimed the top points scored in Lakers history the other night, which is saying alot considering they’ve had legends like Kareem, Jerry West AKA “the logo”, and Kurt Rambis. I bought this shoe this weekend because the Bulls/Falcons/Iolani colorway (anything BUT the Lakers colorway is good with me) was too good to pass up. The Kobe V might be the best shoe I’ve ever balled in. Hands down. I feel like I can drop 63+ at any given moment with them. Wait, did I say “63+”? I means 6 points and 3+ turnovers. Lebron James. Version seven. Let’s go! This is probably the most court wearable colorway (next to the all black everything one) in my opinion. Tops that is. High tops. New RT1 and Dynasty in the building at KICKS/HI Makaloa. The RT1 has quickly become a favorite of our customers because they look fresh with shorts or pants. The Dynasty is a vintage silhouette (the OG version dropped in like ‘85). I like the ankle strap (like for the Vandal and AF1 High) because you can rock it off the back and have it catch your pants for some extra fly-fuy steez. Now at KICKS/HI Makaloa. New mens Air Max 2009 Leather (white leather upper) and AM90 (in coincidental UH Warriors colorway). I think people are sleeping on the AM’09 kind of hard right now. Its a real slick shoe. I would personally prefer round laces with this shoe to make it extra sporty, but you can definitely wear this out to the club too and not have to think twice about it. Nike is running wild with vulcanizing almost every shoe that isn’t a Jordan or an Air Max. #JUSTSAYIN. (Like how I threw in that twitter trending topic reference in there?) On the other hand, I’m not mad at a lot of the vulcanized hybrids that have formed from this process: the AutoForce 180 and the AutoFlight-to name a couple, and Nike’s been doing Blazers proper since the late ’80s. New colorways for Feb.2010 of AutoFlight, AutoForce 180, Toki, and a Lakers colorway Dunk High Supreme.
